Fairytale Survey

Soooo, I learned how to crochet last week and therefore I didn't read ANYTHING because I was so busy practicing. Therefore, I have no weekly reading recap, but.... I love surveys! And this fun Fairytale Survey originally posted at The Daily Prophecy looks extra fun! I found it at Pink Polka Dot Book Blog and really enjoyed Michelle's answers! Hopefully you will have fun posting your own responses, too!

PART 1. CLASSIC PRINCESSES

Pinocchio – The boy whose nose grows when he lies.
Is there are book you lie about, because you feel ashamed for liking it?
So, hear me out. I read Fifty Shades of Grey before I blogged and before I consistently read so many GOOD books, but when I did read the series (out of curiosity and a need to be up-to-date on pop culture), I totally loved Christian Grey. I did NOT love the writing and thought the storyline and Ana were equally ridiculous, but now I refuse to publicly admit how much I loved that stupid Christian Grey (even though if I read it again I probably would still love him. Ugh.).

Beauty and the beast – The girl who fell in love with personality.
Which book do you love that has a hideous cover?
The Second Daughter by J. Jeffrey. Maybe it has a background story or something, but I didn't like the lines around the title or how dark it is.  Wonderful book, though!

Snow white – Hunted down for her beauty.
Do you ever buy a book based on the cover alone and if so, what is the last one?
Maybe not necessarily buy, but definitely add to the TBR list/check out from the library. I recently added The Ring and the Crown by Melissa de la Cruz without even reading the synopsis!

Sleeping beauty – Cursed to sleep, awakened by true loves kiss.
Who is your favorite book couple?
That is such an impossible question!! I'm going with Katsa and Po from Graceling, but I really do have so  many favorite book couples.

Little Mermaid – Gave up on her old life for love.
Do you ever branch out to new genres or do you like to stick with the ones you know and love? If you try new things out, what is the latest book?
I do like to branch out, I feel like sometimes I discover favorite books by doing so. I branched out with George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series last year and not only did I love  it, but I connected with so many other readers who loved it as well!

Cinderella – Who lost her shoe after midnight.
What is the last book that made you stay up all night?
Cress by Marissa Meyer

Rapunzel – locked up in a tower.
What is  the worst books you’ve read last month?
Oh, I hate calling something "worst" and being mean! Although, I will say that I was so bored with Cora Carmack's Seeking Her novella I didn't even bother with the other novella in her series.

PART 2. MIX-MATCH

Aladdin – The poor boy who found a genie.
What is the latest book treasure/gem you found?
Definitely Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me series. I only read it because I wanted to decide if I should go to her author event or not, and I am so happy that I did! I know it's a love-or-hate series, but I loved it and I adore her writing.

Alice in Wonderland – The girl who fell through a rabbit’s hole.
Which book made you really feel like you landed in another world?
Duh Harry Potter!! << I'm going to have to agree with Michelle!

East of the sun and west of the moon – where a girl embarks on a journey to save her love.
Who is one of your favorite kick-ass heroines?
I  have many, so one from a book I haven't mentioned: Cinder from Cinder by Marissa Meyer.

The Frog Prince – where an enchanted prince becomes human again.
What is a book you thought you would hate, but end up loving?
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. It's definitely not my style, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless!

Hansel and Gretel – left alone in the woods and captured by a witch.
Which duo (sister/sister, brother/sister) is your favorite and why?
Can I pick a whole clan of brothers and sisters? Because I choose the Stark kids from A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin. If I have to pick just two individuals, then maybe I'll just go with Cersei and Jaime Lanniser... too creepy? ;)

Little Red Riding Hood – almost eaten by a wolf dressed as her grandmother.
What book disappointed you after falling in love with the cover and blurb?
The Elite by Keira Cass! I want to keep loving this series nonetheless, but sometimes I wonder if it's just because of those gorgeous dresses on the covers...

Rumpelstilskin – nobody knows his name.
Which book do you love that doesn’t get enough attention?
All of Elisa Lorello's books, especially Faking It

Feel free to answer any of the questions you like in the comments section or leave me a link to your post so I can hear what you have to say!

  1. I liked Miss Peregrine's. Have you read the follow-up, Hollow City, yet?

  2. LOL to your Christian Grey love :) I won't hold it against you haha! I am really excited to read the Shatter Me series and see which category I will fall into. Especially since I don't read a lot of books in that genre/subgenre/whatever. I'm glad you like Miss Peregrine's. It is a cool book... I wasn't the biggest fan, but I'd still like to read Hollow City and find out what happens off the island!! Cool answers and thanks for mentioning me :)
